Innovative Design
The design form and materials reflect original WPA park buildings, featuring New Ulm Quartzite walls and steep shingled roofs. Flandrau State Park has a number of good examples of WPA rubble stone work. We wanted to keep that tradition alive. The Quartzite was mined in the local community for this building, reflecting sustainability in saving transportation costs that would have been involved in using non-native stone.
