The Shared Vision: Two Lutheran congregations in Comfrey, MN were destroyed by a tornado. These churches, who had been sharing a pastor, decided a combined building project was the best solution. The new church needed to help build closer relationships within the merged congregations.
The Innovative Design: The narthex forms the ‘town square’ of the church. Everyone entering the church is close to this area. The sanctuary is directly ahead, the fellowship hall to one side and the chapel, fireside room and coffee area to the other side. The bell tower houses the combined original bells of the two churches, symbolizing the integration of the congregations.
