AgCountry, a farmer-owned financial services cooperative, needed a building that provided a prudent use of resources, facilitated efficient staff work-flow, and paved the way for future growth.
Innovative Design
The AgCountry office building, which alludes to prairie style, is located on a very visible site. The site design is an example of how the landscaping can be both beautiful and practical: a pond and lawns offer both aesthetically pleasing views and provide storm water retention and filtration. To the northwest, water is retained in a native prairie grass on-site depression. An open pond to the east is surrounded by native plantings and it also retains and settles storm water. Further, this pond has a cooling coil for the building’s HVAC system. In the interior, a storm shelter was built into the core of the building, which doubles as the data center.
Overall, thoughtful space planning was used to help the staff reorganize themselves into a more productive, customer-friendly work environment.
