Tinnes Baker House

The Tinnes Baker House in Bird Island, MN, is currently undergoing a construction phase focusing on detailed restoration. Thanks to a September 2022 pre-development grant from the Minnesota Historical Society’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, allowed Engan Associates Architects to draft complete construction documents to guide the renovation of this 1910 Craftsman-style brick bungalow, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The condition assessment by Engan Associates described as a “top-to-bottom” review has pinpointed necessary upgrades for structural stabilization, electrical and plumbing updates, and repairs to original features like the front steps and woodwork. This phase ensures that future work preserves both the building’s historic character and prepares it for adaptive reuse.
